Indeed, you are 87% erudite, 79% sensual, 62% martial, and 66% saturnine.
Coyote was an important being to several Native American tribes. He was one of those tricksters that are found in several world mythologies, in fact very close in temperament and deed to Loki of the Norse pantheon.

Eternally scavenging for food, he represents the most basic instincts, but in other narratives, he is also the father of the Indian people and a potent conductor of spiritual forces in the form of sacred dreams. In the Myth of the Stars and the Moon he is shown as a wise counsellor even.

There are more stories about him than stars in the sky. For example, did you hear the one about the Spying Moon? It seems that someone had pinched the moon, and Coyote offered to stand in as replacement. Everyone agreed that he made a fine moon, but from his elevated position Coyote could see everything that was going on. Being of an irritating disposition, he couldn't resist blowing the whistle on friends and enemies alike. "Hey, look what Badger is doing behind his tepee!"

Pretty soon everyone was sick of his snooping and voted him out of the sky. But nothing can keep Coyote down for long. Being an old show-off, he loves to impress the girls by juggling his eyeballs. One day he threw one so high it got stuck in the sky and became the star Arcturus. So even now he's keeping an eye on us all.

You scored as Serenity (from Firefly). You like to live your own way and do not enjoy when anyone but a friend tries to tell you that you should do different. Now if only the Reavers would quit trying to skin you.

So tired. Wicked long recording session tonight...an hourish into the show, Derrick's laptop promptly died and lost everything we had recorded. So we had to start over from the beginning, but it took over 10 minutes for us to stop messing up the intro. Then Derrick left almost right away, but Noah showed up after and had a lot to talk about, so good stuff. Final recording was over 2 hours (although it'll get cut down a decent amount in editing), plus the hour we lost, so roughly 3 hours of just recording the show. Sure, it's technically just talking, but it's tiring, especially when we're recording something we already did.

We're talking about starting another podcast type thing, different though. BJ and I pretty much had the same idea independently, which is essentially episode commentaries on Firefly and eventually Serenity. We figure we'll do that, have fun, put it up on some Firefly sites, and that'll get listeners to check out our other show as well. Then we just have to sell out, and we're in. ;)

Ummmm....what else....playing Dragon Quest VIII, reading Moneyball, Rey Mysterio won the Royal Rumble (somehow, I don't see him headlining WM though, as awesome as that would be), just got the Fourth Season of the Shield, and looking forward to starting two campaigns for the Serenity RPG (one as a player online, the other as GM with the usual RP suspects). Plus classes started last week. I really have far too much on my plate right now, but I'll inevitably just add more stuff. Cause that's how I roll. Apparently.

Wow, that bloody well took forever. I finally got my AIM icon changed to River (the River holding her head pic which is my default LiveJournal icon as well) after FOREVER. I had to download some kind of addon to do it, because the new AIM doesn't allow user uploaded pics apparently. And now the addon is doing crazy things to my font color, constantly changing it without me telling it too.

But actually, that's kind of cool and I'm gonna keep that until it starts changing the text size again.

Updating cause I can!

My latest Amazon order came in.

Smallville Season One (already saw it after borrowing it from BJ, but I liked it, and my father wants to watch it)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 3 (the old cartoon, baby!)

Serenity RPG (I really want to play now, if I can actually get people to play. Mike's the only one who will even try new stuff, although I think I talked BJ into it).

Umm...that's all. Just figured I'd update.

Have I ever mentioned that I hate the Fox network?

Seriously, my new goal in life is to destroy Rupert Murdoch and the Fox network. I mean, oh, let's see, they cancel shows because, through their own fault, they put them on bad nights and then refused to accept the fact that maybe it was their own fault the ratings weren't good (Family Guy). They cancel shows that do get good ratings because the executives decide they don't like them (Futurama). They completely screw over Firefly in every way possible by refusing to show the Pilot, showing episodes out of order, putting it on a terrible night, and cancelling it almost immediately without giving it any kind of a real chance. They constantly cancel shows before they have a chance (ever notice how almost everytime you hear about a show that gets cancelled but does really well on DVD or on other stations, it was cancelled by Fox?). They can't even handle their popular shows right. I love the show 24, so I figured, okay great, I'll watch Season 5 right from the beginning. 24, mind you, is a Monday night show which is on Monday nights. MONDAY nights. Keep that in mind as it will come up again in a moment. So tonight (which, incidently, is SUNDAY night) I'm out helping my father plow, and Derrick calls to see if were gonna go over BJs and watch Family Guy. I say I'm not sure yet but to call me back. So then he calls me back and says "Uh, it looks like Family Guy isn't on tonight". And why, pray tell, is Family Guy not on tonight? Oh, that would be because Fox decided to premiere their Monday night show, 24, on SUNDAY FUCKING NIGHT. So now I missed the first episode of the new season, in which HALF THE FREAKING CAST OF PREVIOUS SEASONS DIED. What the hell! When you have shows like Lost, or 24, that REQUIRE you to watch each and every episode or you'll miss big things, is it too much to ask that you show the episodes on their normal day at their normal time?!?

I'm so sick, so sick of the Fox network. If I didn't love Family Guy and 24, I wouldn't even watch their crappy network. I already flat out refuse to watch any new shows that debut on Fox because they'll probably be cancelled within 2 or 3 episodes anyway. I am thrilled that with the proliferation of TV Shows on DVD that finally these cancelled shows can completely stick it to the Fox network by doing really well after cancellation. I really, really wish Family Guy had returned on Cartoon Network, or ABC, or any station ever that isn't Fox, because then maybe they would learn from their mistakes. Much as I love Futurama, I almost don't want the show to come back if it means Fox gets it again.

I honestly wish there was something I could actually do that would make a difference. I can boycott the Fox network all I want but they wouldn't even notice I was gone. Ugh. The 24 thing isn't even such a big deal really, but combined with all the other crap the Fox Network has done, I'm just beyond tired of it.

As far as Yanks getting Damon goes:

Great hitter, good range, bad arm, which I'm not thrilled about. And I'm hoping he doesn't start getting worse at the end of the contract.

But man, I hate how some Boston fans keep whining about it. Claiming he "sold out".

1. He was with you for four years, he hasn't spent his whole career there. Were you bitching about how he was a sellout when he signed with Boston in the first place?

2. Selling out would have been taking the 6 year contract for more money he was offered.

3. Don't blame Damon, blame Boston's front office. Let's see...Team A pursued him hard and made a bigger offer. Damon had to tell the coach of Team B that the front office really needed to make him an offer. DAMON, had to tell the RED SOX, to make him an offer. Furthermore, if Boston management didn't have this ridiculous idea of making sure everyone knows what every offer they make is, maybe they could have competed. Everyone knew they offered Damon 4 years, 40 million about 5 minutes after the deal went on the table...according to Luchino, Boston had no clue what the Yankee offer was until Damon accepted it. That's complete common sense, and having taken all of one business class, I could have told you you NEVER reveal more than you have to to your opponents. That's one of the major reasons they lost out on the A-Rod deal, the players union and Scott Boras got pissed that the Red Sox management was negotiating in the newspapers.

4. Funny how Boston expects every player who has spent 5 minutes on the team to be forever loyal for the rest of their lives, but a player has a slump for a little while and the fans shit all over them. Schilling, Foulke, and Manny are three of the five biggest reasons Boston won a world championship in 2004 (I'd put Damon and Ortiz as the other two, incidently), but they got booed when they didn't do well last year. And there's a long line of Nomar's, Pedro's, Clemens' and others who got shit on after leaving. You don't demand loyalty, you EARN it. If Red Sox fans expect every player to be forever loyal, maybe they should stop booing them every time they struggle a little bit. And before anyone brings it up, the Yankee fans who do that piss me off too.

5. Boston's going to be a very interesting place in 30 years, seeing as how every single adult will still be working at McDonalds or the mall. Because NOBODY who is complaining about Damon would EVER, EVER leave ANY job for ANY reason, right? No matter how much money is offered? Or does that only count for other people? I'm working at Waldenbooks right now, and I'll tell you what, once I'm done with school, I'm gonna get a better job somewhere else. Of course, I guess to Red Sox fans, that would make me a fucking sellout who should die and burn in hell, because I'm supposed to be loyal to Waldenbooks forever since I worked there this one holiday season...right?

I'm picking on Boston because the Damon thing is the fresh news story and the one people are whining and crying about now, but the rant goes for any fans of any team that start whining and bitching about people "selling out". Unless you still have the same job you had as a teenager and plan to have it forever, then cut the selling out crap. He was offered more money, he took it. The fans of both sides make too damn much of the stupid rivalry sometimes, much more than most of the players do. If Bobby Abreu became a free agent and was offered 40 million, 4 years by the Phillies, and the Braves offered him 52 million, 4 years, would you be whining about what a horrible sellout he is if he took the Braves offer? Because to most people that's pretty much what this would be...a division rival offered more, and they chose to take it. It's only the fans that start freaking out about how it's morally reprehensible for someone to go from the Red Sox to the Yankees and vice versa. If I was a baseball player, would I play for Boston? No, but I'm a lifelong Yankee fan, not some guy who showed up 4 years ago. I'd have no problem jumping from the Phillies to the Braves, and I'd wager nearly every single one of the people complaining would do the exact same thing. A lot, even most of the players don't start some lifelong bond because they were on a team for a couple years. And most players don't take the rivalry even close to as seriously as the fans do.

Besides, and again on the subject of loyalty, Damon played a big part in giving Boston their first World Series win in 86 years. Boo him by all means, he's on the other team now, but all the crap about how he should burn in hell, and how he's dead to everyone, blah blah blah...shows what kind of loyalty those fans have. Some Yankee fans do it too, and it makes me sick when someone starts booing Mariano Rivera for blowing a save, or saying horrible things about David Wells parents. And fans of every team do it, it's ridiculous. But it appears Boston fans aren't better than everyone else after all, like they seem to think.

Podcast coming along fine, up to Show #6.

Serenity/Firefly soundtracks = awesome. If only the song Serenity (it's the ship's theme) was longer! I absolutely love the song, but it's not even a full minute long. Also, no Hero of Canton! Come on! But they had River's Dance, which is also awesome.

I know most of the people who read this don't watch wrestling at all (although I notice Kulit posted already) and won't overly care, but I just wanted to write out something.

When I started watching wrestling in 1998, I was watching WCW, and my three favorite wrestlers were Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero. Since then, only Mick Foley and Kurt Angle have made it to that top spot in my list of favorites. For the past seven years, those three have remained my favorites, for the sheer fact that they always entertained me. Even when I hated the storylines, even when the PPV was being headlined by stupid matches I didn't care about, throw an Eddie VS Benoit match in and I'm THERE. They gave it their all every single night, sacrificing themselves night after night, televised or not, to entertain people. Eddie had a drug and drinking problem for a time, years ago. After getting into a drunk driving accident, he was fired from WWE. Most people would have let that get them down and gotten worse, as we've seen time and time again. Instead, Eddie got himself cleaned up. He stopped taking painkillers (which he was addicted to), he stopped drinking, and he was rehired by WWE. Since then, he continued to entertain night after night, winning the world title eventually, and entertaining people in the ring, on the mic, etc.

Eddie died this morning of what appears to be a heart attack. From what everyone has said at this point, he's been completely clean for four years, but the abuse he put himself through undoubtedly shortened his life greatly. He left 3 daughters, the oldest just entering her teen years, the youngest only 3 years old.

To me, a true role model isn't someone who never makes mistakes. It's someone who does make mistakes, but instead of letting those mistakes control their lives or bring them farther down, they make the conscious effort to fix things, to make it right, to turn things around. Anybody can not do drugs, and that's commendable, but to do them for many years, become addicted to them, and then work tirelessly to stop and to become someone people can look up to is the real difficult thing. Eddie did that. He was a role model to a lot of people, and he deserved to be.

Rest in peace, Eddie. And thank you for the years of entertainment, and everything you sacrificed to bring a smile to people's faces for a few minutes.

Somebody put up a nice tribute video, here's a link to it:

Man, Mariano Rivera and Johan Santana both got screwed out of the Cy Young. Colon wasn't even the best on his team, let alone in the American League. Lackey had better numbers in nearly every single stat aside from wins, which are a product of how the team does and not as much how the pitcher does. Santana beat him in every single stat except wins.

So, we have a new podcast now, The Geek Experience. A podcast related to all sorts of geeky topics! Show #1 focuses on Serenity and Firefly. Also, top 5 movies!

Man, my marketing stuff is getting to me, I only speak in informative show promo's now. ;)

But yeah, our website is www.geekexperience.com. Check it out! And please, please someone sign up for our forums and start talking. We want to get them going but only have 5 members right now, and four of them are me, BJ, Mike, and Derrick. There's nothing really there right now but once people start showing up we'll be able to chat.

The direct mp3 can be downloaded from the site, or if you want to get the show each time a new one is released, you can get it through either I Tunes (which is really annoying because I don't think it's at all searchable, I can't even find our podcast on it even though apparently 5 other people have). Or, you can download IPodder, a neat program that lets you put in podcast feeds and it'll search for new shows whenever you want. I use it since I subscribe to a bunch of shows, and it's excellent. That can be found at ipodder.sourceforge.net. The feed for our show is feeds.feedburner.com/TheGeekExperience. All of this stuff is free, by the way. Give it a look if you're at all interested.
